Bond 2016

Registered voters who live within the Olathe School District boundaries have an opportunity to vote in an upcoming bond election that would help the district address its growth, safety and security, technology, and aging facility needs.

Voters will have between May 18 and June 7 to vote on a $156 million bond issue to address these district needs. Projects within this bond proposal would touch every school in the district and will not increase the mill (tax) rate currently levied to pay off bonds.

As more and more families move into the Olathe Public Schools boundaries to take advantage of the high quality learning environments, award-winning and dedicated staff members and outstanding programs, the need to make sure we provide adequate learning spaces for our students is vital.

The district is proposing a bond election to make sure the district’s growth, safety and security, technology, and aging facility needs are addressed so staff can continue its commitment to helping each student learn and grow in a quality educational setting.
