Bridging Education and Medicine (B.E.A.M.) Program

The B.E.A.M. program is a partnership between Olathe Medical Center and the Olathe School District to provide students with opportunities to observe several professions within the medical field.

Shadowing:  Overseen by 21st Century Academies Coordinator
Fall Semester Program for Seniors places at OMC

  • Commences on Tuesday, September 3, 2019
  • Applications will be accepted as early as the first day of school through Friday, November 1, 2019
  • Applications received after Friday, November 1, 2019 will be considered for the Spring Semester
  • Concludes on Friday, November 15, 2019

Spring Semester Program for Seniors places at OMC

  • Commences on Monday, January 27, 2020
  • Applications will be accepted as early as the first day of the school through Friday, April 10, 2020
  • Concludes on Friday, April 24, 2020

Internships:  Overseen by 21st Century Academies Coordinator
Fall Semester Program for Seniors places at OMC

  • Orientation will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2019
    • 7:45-8:45 am in Doctor’s Building 2, Suite 315
    • 2:00-3:00 pm in The Birthplace on the first floor in the Parent Education Classroom directly behind the welcome desk.
  • Commences on Tuesday, September 3, 2019
  • Program concludes on Friday, November 15, 2019

Spring Semester Program for Seniors places at OMC

  • Orientation will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 in Doctor’s Building 2, Suite 315
    • 7:45-8:45 am
    • 2:00-3:00 pm 
  • Commences on Monday, January 27, 2020
  • Program concludes on Friday, April 24, 2020

Special Events: Overseen by CTE Coordinator

  • Career Nights will be from 5:30PM – 8:00PM
    • Fall Semester: Tuesday, September 17, 2019 for up to 40 students-RR Osborne
    • Spring Semester: Tuesday, March 10, 2020 for up to 40 students-TBD
  • Physician Breakfast will be held on September 19, 2019 at the Olathe Health Education Center/Johnson County Community College, 21201 W. 151st Street, Olathe, KS   Accommodations for up to 120 students
