Bridging Education and Medicine (B.E.A.M.) Program

The B.E.A.M. program is a partnership between Olathe Health and the Olathe School District to provide students with opportunities to observe several professions within the medical field.

What:  Fall Semester Program for placements at Olathe Health

Who:  students 16 & older; must be 18 for certain areas like Emergency or Surgery

When: 
Starts on Tuesday, September 3, 2019
Ends on Friday, November 15, 2019

Applications will be accepted as early as the first day of school through Friday, November 1, 2019

Applications received after Friday, November 1, 2019 will be considered for the Spring Semester

Orientation held on Wednesday, August 28, 2019

7:45-8:45 am in Doctor’s Building 2, Suite 315
2:00-3:00 pm in The Birthplace on 1st floor in the Parent Education Classroom (directly behind the welcome desk)

Career Nights

What:  Provide an opportunity to gain an understanding of healthcare careers in the areas of Critical Care/Respiratory Therapy, Imaging Services, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Rehabilitation Services, Sleep Center, Surgical Services, & The Birth Place.

Up to 40 students per session.

Pre-registration is required.

Who:  Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors

Location:  check-in at hospital main entrance

Spring Semester
Date:  Tuesday, March 10, 2020

Medical Provider Breakfast

What:  For students interested in medical professions.  This event is intended to provide an opportunity for students to gain an understanding of Physician careers and provide an opportunity to network with physician’s of various medical fields.

Up to 160 students.

Pre-registration is required.

Who:  Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors
