Empowering Youth utilizes an educational research-based program called Life Skills Training, which is a substance abuse prevention program. It is paid for by a Safe and Drug Free Schools grant. There are a total of 10 lessons that focus on helping guide youth in making positive choices and providing them the social skills needed to handle peer pressure. Lessons include the following: making decisions, media influences, coping with anxiety, coping with anger, social skills, assertiveness, resolving conflicts, resisting peer pressure. Students will be provided with the necessary supplies to complete each assignment.

Empowering Youth sessions are held at the North Lindenwood Support Center, 315 N. Lindenwood, Olathe KS 66062.
